A historic capital of Prykarpattya
The town of Mykolaiv was founded in 1570 by Polish king Zygmunt II August. One of the oldest towns in Prykarpattya with a rich industrial tradition — from lime, brick and tile production to modern cement manufacturing which started in 1940.
In 2020, the community joined the enlarged Stryi District as the centre of a united territorial community — 24 settlements including the village of Rudnyky, where Khorvatsky Hostynets industrial park is located.
